  These guys were extremely friendly and easy to talk to. They installed a sound-screen on my door and decreased the noise in the hallway by ~15% which was more than promised. I highly rcommend them for other such installations and will be recommending them to my friends for the future.

  Moved into a new office in Chelsea/Midtown West and needed a deadbolt and mail slot. After i got a ridiculous quote from the locksmith my building uses i decided to reach out to SOS Locksmith which is across the street from my apartment. Their quote was reasonably priced, came on time, and installed the lock and mail slot beautifully. They even followed-up to see how everything was working when I came in to get copies. We will now ALWAYS be using SOS.

  Service IS the key to their success! After calling 5 locksmith trying to get a straight answer on what it would run me to replace a cylinder in the middle of the night, i finally got one from SOS Locksmith! Their technician got to me in 15 minutes, gave me an exact quote before he begun working and then did a great job. True proffessionals! DON'T EVEN THINK TWICE...

  These guys are total pros. We called them when a door wouldn't open because the keys were locked inside. We called S.O.S. after many others and got a great turnout, fair rate and speedy service.

  After considering to other contractors who also seemed well qualified, I ended up going with SOS locksmith partly because the price was about 20% lower. The job was to install a mailslot in a solid mahogany door. I was a bit worried, because the door already had a crack showing in it. The man who did the job's name was Donovan. When he drilled the door, some tiny cracks did appear near the mailslot. He used a matching wood-filler to cover them up and so they're invisible, and thoroughly cleaned up the sawdust. I was satisfied, so I also had them install a door saddle, which went without a hitch. Highly recommended.

  My office recently needed to change locks, we called S.O.S., they had a technician at our office within the hour, the locksmith was friendly, made great suggestions and was able to do the work right away. He did a quality job and we would definately use S.O.S. again and recommend them to anyone. we've had bad experiences with shady locksmiths in the past and it's nice to know there are still Real and Reliable locksmith companies out there.

  SOS Locksmith intalled security gates on the outside of our windows on our condo in Chelsea. They did a SUPERB job. They came out to take careful measurements, and arrived promptly in the appointment window as promised. They were meticulous, explaining our options and the process, and they kept us updated every step of the way. When the gates arrived from the manufacturer and were the wrong color, they notified me immediately and returned them for a quick correction. The installation was done professionally and quickly. The two installers paid close attention to small details, like sweeping the masonry dust that accumulated from the drilling from our window ledges. I HIGHLY recommend SOS for any project!

  My wife was locked out of her car @ 2a.m. We called S.O.S. after many other locksmiths. We got a great price & amazing response time. The man who came out was very friendly and actually honored his phone price. You guys made a customer for life.   This may be the best experience I've ever had working with a security company. I knew I needed new locks, but didn't have a clue as to what I should be looking for. The only thing I did know was that I wanted something strong, durable, and something that would keep people from getting duplicates of my keys. I contacted SOS Locksmith and spoke to Guy to explain my situation. He and a factory representative were at my place the very next day to explain the options available! I've never felt so special! These guys are extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and to the point when it came to recommending the best security for my application. The service technicians brought the same level of expertise and professionalism when they came to install the locks later that week. I'm even having them redo my intercom. Bottom line - if you want real-world answers to your security problems, experienced professionals, and first-class service - call these guys today!!!

  We've recently had the pleasure of having SOS install several locks and security accessories in our new office. Being a technology company we needed to be sure our office is secure. Guy from SOS was helpful and professional, his suggestions were right on point and his knowledge was vast. The technicians that came to perform the installation were curious and efficient. Overall, we had a truly great experience with SOS and will turn to them for every locksmith or security need in the future.

  O.K. imagine coming home from a long trip, can't wait to get in the shower, grab something to eat and go to bed only to find out you don't have your keys... well, that happened to me. My super made me aware of all the scams that are going around the city by unproffessional locksmiths who leave their sticker or busines card on every building door, only to rip you off when their done with the job and asking for cash only!!! My super reccomended that i call SOS locksmith which is a respectable company with a store front in NYC that will do the job quickly and hand you a bill that won't make your hair stand. I called SOS and sure enough a technician was at my door step 20 minutes later, opened my door in seconds and then changed my cylinder so i won't have to worry about somebody getting their hands on my lost keys and come for a visit... All in all, i was more then happy with the service, the timeline, the proffessionalizm and more importanly, the price! ***USE THEM, DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME CALLING ANYONE ELSE, YOU'LL ONLY BE DISAPPOINTED***

  Having just moved into our apartment Saturday afternoon to find out that our apartment door had no functioning lock (!) and no super on call we decided that our best bet was to find a 24-hr professional locksmith service that could come to our aid. SOS Locksmith was DEFINITELY IT! The technician was on site within 15 mins of the call (no exaggeration). He installed two locks (both high securities) within 30-40 mins. He even stopped to explain to the super (who came by in the midst of the repair) that the locks were indeed non-functional. The technician was curteous, professional and efficient and we were given a discount for having mentioned CitySearch as our referral service. All in all we would definitely recommend these folks to anyone in need!

  We recently had to obtain and install a weatherproof, battery powered, proximity card reading lock in the shortest possible time to keep our outdoor facility up and running. We asked a few local locksmiths for input, but SOS came back in a matter of days with the appropriate equipment, a possible installation schedule (within a week!) and a very competitive price. As we worked together to refine the specifications and set up the installation, which required a welder, an installer and a programmer, their knowledge, experience and "can do" attitude made for one of the best customer experiences I've had -- from ANY vendor or establishment. I would not hesitate to recommend the SOS team for any locksmith/security needs- whether it's a single key for the apartment, or a security package for your business. Their knowledge is broad, their service is friendly and efficient and their attitude is completely and refreshingly positive.

  Without a doubt, the best locksmith imaginable. The people in the store, and the guy who came to my apartment were truly gentlemen, well informed, efficient and trustworthy. I was having some issues with a stalker and needed my locks changed as quickly as possible. I called SOS, and within an hour a locksmith was at my door, Roy, who was very fast, kind and polite. There was no sketchy, underhanded nonsense about the cost of anything, and I didn?t get that creepy feeling that he might be keeping a key for himself (which is a feeling I?ve gotten from many a locksmith, and a few times it was not unfounded). I went to pick up some extra keys after Roy had finished up, and the experience at the store was great. The guys are fast, efficient, funny, and quite nice, they even offered to change my locks in South Beach, where they have another store!! These guys are awesome, I wouldn?t go, or recommend going, anywhere else. I now feel much more safe and am stalker-free!!

  We approached SOS Locksmiths to help us find a keyless entry system for our apartment entry door in Brooklyn, Guy Gabai, SOS's sales rep recommended that we email him pictures of the door and its current locks. From these images he determined that the door could not accomodate a mortise style keyless lock without an expensive and time consuming retrofit. He suggested that we use a keyless deadbolt, and the lock was also high security. He also solved the problem of still having to carry an entry key for the bottom lock by making that key the bypass key for the deadbolt which should be carried anyway, in case the batteries fail. This suggestion was one of those a-ha moments when you say "this guy really knows what he is talking about". I really appreciated the fact that there was no hard sell on any of his suggestions- and that he immeditately ruled out the mortise because of labor costs. The SOS team installed the new lock on Saturday and they were on-time, professional, courteous, friendly, neat and so fast! They had to drill a hole into the steel door to accmodate the new deadbolt where there was not one before as well as all of the holes for the jbar. There was not a scratch in the door and the notch they carved out of the j-bar for the keyless lock was a PERFECT fit. This team is really amazing, knowledgable and did I metion that we did 85% of this project via email. He even scanned the product instruction book so I could read it over before we made our descion, I highly recommend this team.

  I'm actually just visiting New York, so when the key to my apartment door wasn't working, I was relieved that there was a phone number for a supposed "Big Apple" locksmith on a sticker above the call buttons for the building. I called them, a guy came, told me I needed to replace my lock, ruined the door while doing so, then charged me the most crazy-bogus amount ever. I'm too embarrassed to even mention how much it was. The locksmith told me it was the landlord's responsibilty to pay for it, and I should just give the receipt to him (the landlord) and would get reimbursed. However, the amount was so ridiculous the landlord was not going to pay for it. So it was up to me to somehow get (most of) my money back. I started out by calling a number of locksmiths to get a feel of what a normal price would be for replacing a lock. Out of all the companies I called--and I called a lot--SOS was by far the most helpful, not to mention smartest, and best of all, nicest. The owner, Guy, apologized on behalf of locksmiths everywhere, as well as the city itself, before giving me great advice on what I could do. Then he CALLED "Big Apple" locksmith HIMSELF to figure out what was going on get some info for me. Did I mention I didn't even USE their services?! I don't think I can recommend them more highly than by simply stating what happened.

  I had misplaced they key to my (locked) filing cabinet and feared I was facing a huge bill to get a locksmith over to bust it open. Based on the great reviews here, I called SOS and a very nice, helpful man named Keith went the extra mile to research my lock and make a new $15 key for me -- rather than charging me $100 to come open the cabinet (which he easily could have done, because I didn't know that there are often standard lock codes stamped on these kinds of locks which correspond to specific keys). I have never before used a locksmith and not left the transaction feeling totally ripped off, so this was a first! I highly recommend them!

  SOS locksmith is good for keys and simple things, I'd give them 4 stars for that. But their alarm system installer was a horrible combination of rudeness and incompetance, he had no idea how to make the alarm system fully functional. It took way too many days and I had to keep calling to get them to come out. Alarm is still not functioning as promised. Alarm instalation only 1 star.

  SOS Locksmith is incredibly helpful. I work for a small non-profit and our funds for administrative costs are limited. They are so friendly and were immediately willing to help us out. I contacted a few other locksmiths in the area and SOS was the only one who was prompt and helpful.

  I happened to break my key in the lock late last night. I asked my super and he highly recommended the guys from SOS so I called. They were here in less than 30 minutes and got me in in less than 15. All I can say is thank you.

  SOS Locksmith Corp. performed an excellent job in a timely matter. The only comment I have is the costs for the job was extremely high compared to the rest of the nation. I guess locksmiths & door installations are in a greater demand for New York City.

  I had a problem with my intercom system that other locksmiths were not able to solve. a friend suggested SOS and so I called. They were professional and knowladgable - as a result they solved my issue and my intercom system was operational in no time. I'll suggest SOS from now on for any security/locks issues.

  They installed two quality doors at my house and one cage over an a/c. There was a bit if a delay with the vendor who was sending them the doors (custom) but I trust that wasn't their fault. The a/c cage was the wrong size at first but they measured again and corrected the problem and came by and installed while I was at work.
